My Recommendation

Which Pass should you buy?

While I have a favorite for many other cities, there are three recommendations for Paris City that I have. Why?

If you want to see as much of Paris as possible in just a few days, the Paris Pass is my favorite. It includes all the major attractions and tours, giving you a huge selection to choose from.

For me, the Paris Explorer Pass is in second place. For me, it is the winner among the attraction-based passes.

And if you are particularly interested in the many world-famous museums in Paris, then the Paris Museum Pass is your best choice!

Special features for Paris

A real highlight is the Museum Pass Paris, which allows you to visit over 60 top museums. If you opt for one of the Paris Sightseeing Passes, it is often included in the price. What does that mean for you? If you want to visit the Louvre, for example, with a Paris Pass that includes the Museum Pass, you must always have your attraction pass AND the Museum Pass ready at the attraction.

These Paris Passes include the popular Museum Pass Paris

In this table, I show you which Paris Pass includes the Museum Pass. If the Museum Pass is not included, you can still visit the museums (just not all 60 in the Paris Museum Pass). The only criterion is that these attractions are included in the program of the passes.

My Tip for Eiffel Tower and Louvre

The Eiffel Tower and the Louvre are among the most popular and most-booked attractions in Paris and are therefore always very busy. It is therefore essential that you book your time slot for free at least 48 hours in advance (preferably much earlier) with the respective Paris Pass.

You always need a reservation for these attractions!

If you have purchased one of the Paris attraction passes, you will receive your own pass number. You will need this when booking your free time slot – to do so, use these links:

In my experience, this combination is perfect for getting the most out of Paris in a relaxed way.

Which Paris Pass should you choose?

My Recommendation

What you will notice: although the Paris Passlib’ offers the most savings, I cannot recommend it to you. The selection process is confusing and the support is not good, so it is generally not well rated!

In my experience, you are much better off with the Paris Pass and the Explorer Pass Paris!

How do the attraction passes for Paris work?

No matter whether you opt for the Paris Explorer Pass, the Paris Pass, the Paris All-Inclusive Pass or the Turbopass Paris – they all work the same way.

#1 Buy in advance, activate and use in Paris

The sightseeing passes are a great way to save money on your travel budget. Once you have decided on a Paris Attraction Pass, these are the next steps:

  • Step 1: You will receive the booking confirmation by email
  • Step 2: You print this out (it is already your passport) or download it directly as an electronic version into the free app of the respective Paris Pass provider
  • Step 3: For important attractions such as the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre, you should urgently reserve your tickets in advance, which are then free with your Paris Pass. You can find exact links in my table above, as well as in the documents from the pass providers!
  • Step 4: When you arrive in Paris, present it at the attraction’s ticket office (ATTENTION: some will ask for your ID or passport for verification when you use it for the first time).
  • Step 5: You will receive your admission ticket or your Paris Pass will be scanned and you’re ready to go!

#2 You save on the most important attractions and tours in Paris

All Paris City Cards work like a combined ticket, like 1 ticket for many attractions at the same time. By purchasing multiple tickets in the form of sightseeing passes such as the Paris Explorer Pass, the Paris Pass, the All-Inclusive Pass or the Turbopass, you will save money on visiting the sights of Paris.

You can usually expect to save at least 20%, and more likely 25-35%!

#3 Easy to use

They are comparable to prepaid phone cards on the phone: once purchased, you can use them for as many attractions or days as you have “charged” them. For example, if you have purchased the Explorer Pass Paris for 4 attractions, then you can use it as an admission ticket for exactly 4 attractions.

With the Paris Pass for 2 days, you can visit as many attractions as you want or can manage – but only for 2 days.

Which Paris Pass is the best?

That’s a difficult question to answer, because the answer depends on what you want to see in how many days and who you are in Paris with. However, there are some attraction passes that are better than the other candidates:

#1 The best Paris Pass für First-time visitors

If you want to see the full range of attractions, the best choice for you is a multi-day attraction pass. Why? For a fixed price, you can visit as many attractions as you want or as many as you can manage.

With the Paris Pass for 2 days or the Paris All-Inclusive Pass for 2 days, you can choose from the attractions, walking tours, boat tours and hop-on hop-off bus tours for 2 days. The price won’t change – no matter if you visit 6 or 20 of them! Great, isn’t it?

Three (!) of the Paris Sightseeing Passes are recommended here: for me, the Paris Pass is just ahead of the Explorer Pass Paris. And if you are mainly interested in museums, there is no way around the Paris Museum Pass.

My tip: the days count consecutively, so don’t leave any days in between – otherwise they will expire!

#2 The best Paris Pass for families

The attraction-based Paris Explorer Pass is perfect for families with children because you can plan a day without sightseeing in between. The kids want to do something different on the day than you originally wanted? No problem, just do it another day!

You can buy the Paris Explorer Pass here.

#3 The best Paris Pass if you’ve already been to Paris

Are you a repeat visitor to Paris? Great! That means you’ll be able to take in the City of Love in a much more relaxed way, because you’ll have already visited many of the famous sights on your first vacation.

Therefore, the flexible Explorer Pass Paris is ideal for you, as it is for families. If you are big museum fans, you should take a look at the Paris Museum Pass. It includes 60 museums, but no more than that. Super-focused with super savings.
