Which Dublin Pass is the Best?

First things first: you won’t go wrong with either of the two passes, as they are very similar in terms of how they work and the attractions included.

If you want to do a lot in Dublin, the day-based Dublin Pass is better.

If you only want to visit a few attractions, the Explorer Pass is the better pass!

How do the attraction passes work?

Whether you choose the Explorer Pass or the All-Inclusive Pass, the way they function is the same:

#1 Purchase in advance, activate, and use in Dublin

The sightseeing passes are a great way to ease your travel budget. If you’ve decided on a Dublin Pass, these are the next steps:

  • Step 1: You receive the booking confirmation by email.
  • Step 2: Print this out (it’s already your pass) or download it directly as an electronic version into the free Go City app.
  • Step 3: Once in Dublin, show it at the ticket counter of the attraction (NOTE: for some attractions you need to have a reservation).
  • Step 4: You’re all set to go!

#2 Save on key attractions and tours in Dublin

All Dublin City Cards function like a collective ticket, providing access to multiple attractions with just one purchase.

Expect to save over 20% in most cases, with potential savings of 30-50% being even more likely!

#3 Easy and Convenient

These passes offer flexibility in terms of the number of attractions or days they are valid for.

For instance, if you opt for the Explorer Pass for 5 attractions, it allows entry to precisely those 5 attractions. On the other hand, an All-Inclusive Pass valid for 3 days lets you visit as many attractions as you wish within that timeframe.

Which Dublin Sightseeing Pass is the Best?

Choosing the best Dublin City Card can be challenging as it depends on your interests, the duration of your stay, and who you’re traveling with in Dublin. Yet, some passes are more notable than others:

#1 The Best Dublin Pass for First-Time Visitors

If you aim to explore many of Dublin’s attractions within a short period, the Dublin All-Inclusive Pass is an excellent choice. It offers the flexibility to visit as many attractions as you can manage for a set price.

My tip: The validity of the pass is consecutive, so make sure not to skip any days to maximize its value.

#2 The Best Dublin Pass for Families

For families, especially those with children, the Explorer Pass stands out. It allows you the flexibility to take a break from sightseeing. If your kids fancy a change in plans, it’s easy to adapt and revisit attractions on a different day.

The Explorer Pass Dublin is available for purchase here.

#3 The Best Dublin Pass for Return Visitors

If you’re returning to Dublin and already familiar with the city, you’ll likely find your visit more relaxed this time around, as you’ve probably seen many of the key attractions before.

In this case, the time-flexible Dublin Explorer Pass is a great choice, offering a relaxed approach to revisiting or exploring new attractions.
